Digging 20 meters of tunnel every day they leave their characteristic mounds of earth in piles (molehills) usually on well kept lawns. Moles eat worms which are found in the large tunnel networks they build. Though a solitary mammal, males expand their territory during breeding season and they usually live up to 3 years.
