Sadly, Hotels are the perfect place for pests and these can range from Rats to Bedbugs. It is imperative that you have a company like EECG taking this serious issue with a proactive approach. We are often asked to take over where another pest control company have left the Hotel poorly managed and on our initial treatment we have to correct all that went wrong.

It can be a costly mistake to use the wrong company to control and manage incoming pests. The sighting of a mouse can have severe implications on the Hotel’s good name and a heavy discount will probably be the compensation for a complaining guest.


One particular hotel had done this 12 times in one week. No action was taken by their present contractor and so they called EECG. We still manage this Hotel and can confirm a vast improvement in mice control.

Areas Covered in a Hotel:

Kitchen and Dining Areas

EE Control Group protects many commercial kitchens and has an excellent reputation amongst E.H.O’s throughout the boroughs. Our highly trained and skilled Technicians will make regular routine inspections and identify intrusions, monitor activity and prevention methods to exclude any incoming pests.

The most important factor is to illuminate and control the possibility of cross-contamination and disease. In these areas our key objectives are;

  • Electric Fly Killers are serviced and maintained (bulbs last on average 6 months).
  • Cockroach Monitoring devices are present and regularly checked.
  • Mouse bait stations must be positioned, inspected and replenished.
  • Where waste and recycle units are present we will ensure exterior durable rat bait stations will be positioned, monitored and replenished.

If these areas are not controlled the pests will move into front-of-house areas and will be sighted causing stress amongst staff and more importantly guests.

Hotel Accommodation

The single biggest threat in these areas is the dreaded Bedbug. It is imperative that these are addressed at the earliest of stages. Though we cannot offer cover of this particular species in an annual contract, we do offer a rapid response treatment to control these blood eating insects. Every infestation differs and there are many sub-species from almost every country on earth. So as a consequence they can be transported from quests from anywhere.

Other biting insects found in hotel suites and rooms are fleas which are easily manage and eradicated in a two phase treatment.

Other Interior Areas

Back-of-house areas, staff quarters, sport facilities, therapy, shops and offices are at low risk from pests, but we will cover these areas as a precautionary measure.

Exterior Areas

EECG believes that the exterior of a hotel is particularly important and is often over looked, we are insistent that outside areas within the Hotel boundary are protected and monitored at all times. This should be integrated within your service plan. There are many ways in which we control feral birds in and around hotels. We are able to use a whole range of deterrents including Bird Netting, Post and Wire Systems and the popular Pigeon/Gull Spike Systems.

After our initial in-depth Site Survey we will establish what pests threaten the particular site.Once we establish what measures are needed we will begin our set up program. We have onsite experience to monitor, control and exclude any specific species without interrupting the flow of your Hotel. An onsite folder will be left with the facilities management team and should you require any information, everything will be on hand in a clear understandable and thorough reporting system. Confidentiality agreements can be signed by EECG to protect your name and brand.
